Vm htc evo v 4 g(rooted, s-on, cwm recovery, stock rom ) cameras stopped working after 40 days (camera icon appears then blank screen followed by reboot).. Have done the usual trouble shooting
including teardown to check flex and connectors.Went so far as to replace camera modules. New Midinight ROM and kernel failed to get them going. Strange thing is that both cameras started working for about 1 hour 2 weeks after they failed first time then nothing since. At a loss to even know where to go from here. Phone works superb except no cameras. Oh yeah other cam apps will not function although flashlight apps turn on LEDs but thats it, usually have to pull battery to turn them off.Hate to give up and write it off to flawed chipset or whatever controls them.
