Dialer app background-moving image. wassup with that?

I've got 7.0 on my S7 as does my wife's S7. We both have Nova Launcher and we both have the same dark theme.

My dialer shows a brightness change sweeping from the lower left to the upper right while the call is ringing. My wife's dialer doesn't do that. Her background is static.

I'd like mine to stop with the weirdness. Ideas?

I found the problem. Recently I had turned on those damn animation options in developer options because if I didn't have them turned on when I would do a Google app search the results page would not come up. I don't know why on Earth we have to have animations turned on in order to get the Google app to work properly but that's the case. My wife doesn't use the Google Voice search app so she doesn't need the animations turned on
