Dialer problem entering automated menu numbers

I have a problem entering menu numbers when calling numbers with automated answering. When I press the menu number on the dialpad it doesn't enter on the dialer and the automated operator just blathers on. I've read the User Guide and it says to tap the Dialpad icon but it's got an X on it to hide the dialpad. I think the problem is new since upgrading to GB but can't be absolutely sure. I have Go Launcher EX and Launcher Pro installed. It's getting next to impossible to make business calls so any ideas will be welcome.

Same problem same phone same update, though think it may have been an issue before but cannot be sure.
Very frustrating as sometimes it will let you punch in your number or option then other times it stops working halfway through!
I have found that you can push the power button to put it in standby and then hit it agian and this seems to work sometimes. But would love a fix!
