I am currently on SC 2.6
when you go to phone, and then to dialer tab there are 3 icons on bottom
voicemail, call, text message.
the Voicemail icon opens up google voice when I click it and wants to set it up instead of checking my voicemail through verizon.
Is there a way to change what number is linked to the icon for checking voicemail? thanks for any suggestions.

I think this will help:
Settings -> Call Settings -> Voicemail service -> My carrier

wish it was that easy......Adrynalyne suggested
to take the stock dialer from eb01 deodexed and just drop it in.
dialertabactivity.apk

but still gives the same error message as above

update:
I was able to get rid of the error message with the NitroTheme flash but it just goes back to wanting a setup with Google Voice which is where I started:) Still no fix for using default carrier voicemail.

Gee thanks guys, now I know something that is broken on my phone. Good thing nobody ever calls me. Thanks for the heads up on holding the 1 key. I never noticed the the voicemail icon.

It's not necessarily that anything is broken. That's just the feature set you chose by getting SC. The main thing Adrynalyn is trying to accomplish with his ROMS are to remove all things Verizon (bloat). In this case, Visual Voice Mail is replaced with Google Voice in the dialer. If you don't use Google, don't use the VM button on the bottom left. Just use the 1 key, which like almost every phone out there, is locked to speed dial your VM number (*86).

for those that are interrested go to the themes sticky at top of page and look for NitroDark theme by nitroglycerine. He has a Verizon Voicemail Dialer file that just needs to be flashed to SD card and your dialer icon will revert back to its default and not go to google voice.
