Does it hurt the incredible 2 like it does the Thunderbolt? Since it has a SIM card

the SIM card in the Incredible 2 isn't for use within the United States. The new Incredible 2 is a global phone which means Mexico, Europe and before you do use it, call Verizon for turning it on and pricing. *228 helps the roaming capabilities, will not hurt the phone.
If you aren't traveling, you can remove the SIM card......it won't hurt. It is useless in the US....

Awesome. I'm traveling to Georgia next month and I usually dial *228 to make sure I have up to date roaming capabilities. Thanks for the thorough response
