Dialpad doesn't auto pop up when calling voicemail?

When calling voicemail, on my X2, the dialpad automatically used to come up so I can enter my password. On the GN, I have to select the keypad. Not a huge deal, but just wondering if that's really a bug or just by design?

On my OG Droid, you always have to select the keypad. I imagine it's the same on the Nexus.

I miss the ability to have the keypad automatically pop up on a custom number. I had that ability with my droidx.

Really wish that feature was here because I used it every day.
