Did A Verizon Cell Tower Go Down?

I live in Dutchess county NY. We were hit with this snow storm yesterday. At about 5:15pm, I had no service. Even today, no service. I am using wifi and can send or receive texts or calls. Is anyone else having issues?

I'm over in Ulster and have no problems but I dont think we got hit as bad a you guys did.

I know about half of all Central Hudson customers are out so it is quite possible some cell towers are down too.

My daughter lives in dutches. They lost power yesterday eve. N it cam back this morning

I am in the San Francisco bay area.....it was so fricking cold this weekend, I think it was like 52 last night.....almost had to put long pants on......LOLOLOL

I so want to live in the snow for 1 year....that's it....it is on my bucket list!

The calls and text messages came back up in the evening on 10/30. I did call verizon and they did do the right thing and credited me 2 days. If anyone had the prob, hey should call them. As for the ringtone changes, that is making me crazy. I am just going to put a gen ringtone for everyone until someone comes up with a fix for it. My blackberry did that on a OTA update and I went back to old OS.

When something like this happens or you just have a simple glitch within the phone. it is a good idea while the phone is still turned on, remove the battery and the SIM card for a few seconds and then put them back on and let the phone just reboot and do its thing. It is a mini computer and therefore needs special attention once in awhile.
It is also good to just clear out the cache and cookies too. (it won't help the connection) It is just good for the phone.
