I know probably the majority of people are getting the 16GB, but I'm just wondering did anyone get the 8GB and if so, how much space do you have free? Right now I'm not sure what I'm going to get and really it all comes down to if Apple announces an iPad mini. I have an iPad 1 but want a smaller device for reading. My primary use for a Nexus 7 would be to read eBooks, browse the web, read emails and watch shows on Netflix. I wouldn't be storing a lot of local content. Movies, TV shows, etc. would be on my iPad. I really like the $199 price of the 8GB model. But then again if Apple were to come out with a $299 16GB iPad mini, I would probably get that just because I am already heavily vested in the Apple world. But somehow I doubt seriously any new iPad would be cheaper than $349 and more probably $399. In that case I would go with the Nexus 7. I really would like to hear though how usable the 8GB Nexus is though.

I purchased the 8gb for my husband who will only be using it for a few things, otherwise would have went for the 16gb. Currently have 5.43gb available and that's downloading 1 or 2 apps. It comes loaded with a few books and mags.

very good question. I'd like to know too. I ordered the 8g this morning, and I don't plan on having any music, my ipod has all my music, and do not plan on putting any movies in it. I just want to load it up with games. so I hope I'll be o.k. with the 8g?

Hum, 5.43GB. The additional apps I would be installing would be Kindle, Nook, Netflix, Google Drive, Flipboard and Google+. I wonder if they would fit okay?

I got the 8gb model. Most of the things I'll be doing will use the cloud anyway, so the lack of space should be fine. But that's just me.

Google plus is already counted and all those apps that you mentioned are not that big. You will be good. You will have problems if you download a lot of movies or music

I immediately watched the Transformers movie for about 30 seconds just to just the quality and then promptly deleted it to free up space.

After downloading the majority of Apps that I needed/wanted I've used up 650mb in apps. Still have 4.43gb left.

I uploaded all of my music to Google Music over a week ago, and will begin using more cloud options. I also have Hulu and Netflix so I won't be needing to buy movies/music. I'm not too worried about space as I was with the kindle.

well that's a good sign. I feel better about my purchase now

Just ordered my 8gb. After debating it for past few days, 50$ and and the shipping time of 3-4weeks helped me decided today. I store everything in the cloud and I don't play much games. I'll spend that 50$ on adding memory to my macbook pro instead.

I went with the 8gb Nexus, downloaded a couple apps and currently have 5.92gb of free space.

I also ordered the 8GB version because It is what I could afford. I'm going to delete the Transformer movie too and that will help a lot.

I believe the transformer movie is streamed... No space taken.

I got an 8 gb model, and I love it. It just came in the mail yesterday. I am a big Google Drive and Music user and both have worked extremely well so far. I was able make an album for use offline in a matter of a couple of mins. Then I was able to take several pictures from Google Drive for offline use and everything was so quick.

I have download several larger Tergra 3 games and I still have an ample amount of left over memory.

Easy to figure out......1,000mb = 1gb. Any app you want to d/l will show how many mb's it uses.

I have the 8gb model. So far i have installed 42 apps, a movie, and a nandroid backup. I still have 3.6gb left. Most of those apps are games i will probably play once and then uninstall. I also rooted my N7 so i can use an sd card with it. I can also store stuff in the cloud. Storage isn't a problem for me.

I prolly would have been perfectly happy with the 8G model but I`d also still be waiting for it to be delivered.

I have the 8gb version. Went for the smaller one as I already have a 32gb iPad 3. Planning on using the Nexus 7 for commuting so 8gb is fine :)

I ordered the 8GB since I already have a 64GB iPad that I plan to keep. I got my Nexus yesterday and have over 70 apps installed. I have 4.65 GB available.
