I used the guide to return my Optimus to stock so I could sell it as I just bought the Evo Shift. I succesfully got back to the stock rom. The only thing I didnt do is take off the custom recovery.

When the guy called sprint to activate the phone the data wouldnt work so they had him do a dialer code and after the phone rebooted. Since it rebooted it is now stuck in recovery. I'm able to flash thunderom and use the nandroid to restore to the stock backup successfully but no matter what I do it reboots back into the custom recovery. Did I permanetly brick my Optimus? What can I do?

I'll give that a try when I get home later. Thanks

Edit: I just realised I dont think this will work as I'm successfully nandroid restoring the stock rom and it still boots to recovery only.

Custom recovery has adb support, correct?

That might work when Nandroid doesn't. That said, you'd have to get the files; there's a few ROM cookers here and others that wipe their phones on a fairly regular basis. Would give you files myself but it'd take me awhile to get a clean copy (I'd have to make room on my card for that and a normal nandroid backup, then I'd need time to restore it afterwards and hope that it doesn't leave my phone unusable/halfway usable - and I usually don't like to risk that right before I go out to work :P)

Follow the instructions again on "return to stock" This time do everything exactly as instructed and you should be back to normal with stock rom and recovery. Don't skip anything.
