Did I get a returned phone?

So finally got a note 4 at the Verizon store over the weekend.

It's great so far, but as I'm looking over downloads I find waze/stubhub and few kiddie games that I definitely didn't download. I thought it was bloat ware at first, but I'm able to uninstall them. Also no galaxy gifts to be found either

So did I get a returned phone or just being paranoid?

Now it works fine, but if I'm paying for a new phone then I want a bnib phone.

Thanks

There was definitely some bloat that could be uninstall on the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Galaxy gifts aren't pre-installed

That might be preloaded apps, aka, bloat. Some might argue that Waze is not bloat, but I view bloat as like a weed; if you don't want it, it's bloat, at least to you. If you buy a house and there is a rose bush in the yard, and you don't like roses, then that rose bush is one big weed.

Sounds returned to me, mine is a verizon phone and didn't have waze or any other kiddie games installed.

Verizon Note 4 here. No waze or stub hub but I did have some kiddie games installed.

Did it have all the clear plastic over screen and sides (that'd never go back on neatly) and a bit on camera lens? Battery at about 60%?

There was plastic on the screen and camera....nothing on the sides. The front plastic was peeling from the top corner already if I remember. I think battery was around 45-50, but not sure. BTW that battery went to like 5% in the first 2-3 hours that I got it and was just playing with the phone.

If I could have opened the box and powered it up myself then I'd be more sure, but as they were opening it up and activating in store it seemed "new." Never crossed my mind to ask if the was actually brand new.

Well was kinda annoyed at first, but I'll probably keep this one then going into the store and going through the hassle. Ordering online would probably be the safer bet to avoid something like this.

It wouldn't show up on the download list though right?

No you didn't get a returned phone. I purchased mine new from Verizon, off contract, and it had grub hub and like soda crush and some other bloatware installed. There was plastic on everything, the chords, etc were all 100% sealed and the battery was sealed. So I wouldn't worry about it. The fact that a couple people here had the same "preinstalled apps" point towards yours not being a returned phone.
