Did I ruin my phone?

I tried rooting my phone recently and now I have the black screen of death. All I can do so far is get to manual mode, but I can't get back into download mode at all it just goes back to blackscreen everytime. I've tried wiping all data and resetting to factory defaults with no results. My android is a SPH-D700. What are my options, if any? I really appreciate any input/help that's given.

That's a bad sign....
