Did Something Happen With WiFi Tethering??

I have a rooted Moto Droid Razr Maxx with Verizon and here lately (2 weeks or so) I havent been able to tether off my phone like I have been able to in the past. I used to use an app called "WiFi Tether" (yellow icon) and now its not even on the Google Play Store. I deleted it to re-download the app and now it isnt there.

Ive tried downloading and using multiple other tethering apps, but nothing is working.

Opengarden: Once I turn WiFi on, it turns itself back off
Barnacle: Has errors when trying to connect
FoxFi- Worked for a bit, but then wanted to me buy

Ive tried other numerous tethering apps with good ratings, but it seems like they ALL initiate "Mobile Hotspot" ($20 and I do not have on my plan).

So Im wondering if Verizon cracked down on tether apps or if there is something wrong with my phone.

Is there an app where I can tether wifi from my phone to my laptop?

I'm wondering the same thing, I've had the exact same issue which is a bummer because PDANet's WIFI feature doesn't seem to work with my phone model and FOXFi has to be paid for in which case I may as well buy my own internet service... anyone know what's up?

Have you tried looking for the .apk file of Wi-Fi Tether online?
