I was just watching Flossy Carter's Real Review of the Note 10 Plus and one of his gripes was that for $1100 USD he is not happy that it doesn't came with a case in the box.

Well, I got a Galaxy Note 10 Plus here in Dubai which is the Exynos variant as we don't get the Snapdragon variants here and it did come with a clear TPU case, similar to the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Case.

Nice move from Samsung on this one.

Here's a photo I took using my previous BlackBerry Key2 of the case fitted to my Note 10 Plus:

Did you all get a case with your phone? Please do mention where you bought yours as well (ie. USA, Europe, etc.)

Not in the US (but you do get from 100 to 200 dollars depending on when and where you ordered it) for accessories, which can include the 1st party cases.

Also, are you sure these come from Samsung? They don't have a transparent version of their cases. Silicone covers only come in solid colors.

100% positive, the box was sealed with the Samsung seals everywhere and the Samsung plastic wrap around it and the case was in the little sleeve that contains the manuals which also has the sim ejection tool. When I opened it just to check what's in there I was surprised to see the case. Here's a photo I took using my previous BlackBerry Key2 of the case fitted to my Note 10 Plus:

The last 'free' case I had with a Samsung phone was with the Note 3 and that was a wallet case of no protection at all!
What Flossy said was true, you want a case with the phone just for some protection as Samsung official cases have been out of stock for weeks and I don't like buying cases for the sake of it.

Wow, so free case in Dubai, huh? That's pretty cool.

Just curious, what features are curtailed in the UAE model? I know that over there you're locked into Du or Etisalat, and that for reasons not entirely clear to me, video calling features on Whatsapp, Skype, Facetime (not applicable in this forum, I guess) and other apps are not accessible. Does the version of Whatsapp you get on your phone include video calling?

This is nothing new, pretty common that US you don't get the transparent free case but other regions in Asia get the free case bundled in the box.

One obvious reason I can think, Samsung as usual bending over back to US carriers so that the greedy carriers can upsell you on the cases in store. If the carriers can get away they won't hesitate to ship you just the phone with no accessories lol

PS: Yes I know it's not only in the US, and few other regions don't get as well.

The phone is carrier unlocked. Whatsapp or any other app's VoiP features does not work as it is banned by the telecommunications authority here, same goes for iPhone's Facetime which does not even come installed on iPhones purchased here.

You can use Whataspp's video calling, Google Duo, Skype, or anything else using a VPN though the phone itself is not limited in any way it's the carrier blocking that prevents these apps from working 100% without a VPN.

I was thinking it was about the Exynos or Snapdragon variants but a UK user above also stated that he didn't get the case and from what I know the UK also gets the Exynos variants so you're completely right, I guess it depends on the region you buy it from. Pretty neat they are starting to do this even if it's for *some* regions. I remember when I bought a P30 Pro it also came with a bundled transparent case although it was very plasticy and didn't feel like it offers any decent protection but this one that Samsung included is much better as it's a TPU case and feels like it would protect the phone from minor drops.

I did however order a Spigen Ultra Hybrid case as usual.

the free case that came with my Note 9 Australian version was just a very basic clear case, I didn't like it at all, it would do until you buy something else but that aside you are not losing out on anything

Yeah it is pretty basic but a nice touch nonetheless to provide some basic protection until one gets his preferred case which I just received by the way:
