Did you get an unlock code with your phone

I ordered an unlocked Note8 from Samsung.com in Canada. I have ordered 5 different phones from them over the last few years and every one had an unlock code on the invoice. When I got my Note8 there was no code included. Just wondering if you did or not. Thanks.

I bought from Best Buy Canada and got my phone yesterday. No unlock code.

I have the Samsung variant which is factory sim unlocked. No need to worry about unlock codes.

Thanks. I'm used to getting a code so I was wondering. I thought once you put a SIM card in, it would be locked to that network until you put in a different SIM and the unlock code. Will be going overseas soon, so I need to have it ready for a different SIM card.

Different carriers have different policies. Verizon sells their 4glte smartphones factory sim unlocked. You would need to check with your specific carrier regarding their policy

I've heard this from others in Canada who ordered a Note 8, but had no unlock code. You think maybe due to Canadian law that went into effect last December that Samsung actually released a version that no longer locks to the carrier upon SIM insert?

Could be possible, but I bought an S8+ about 2 months ago from Samsung's website in Canada and it came with an unlock code. I'll have to contact Samsung to find out what the deal is. I remember hearing something about the carriers having to not lock phones though. Thanks.
