Is it just ridiculous to not spend the $50 to upgrade to the 32GB?

Or are there people out there using the 16GB just fine?

Suppose it depends on your use case and how much stuff you like to carry on your phone (offline).

Personally, I bought the 32GB one only because there wasn't a 64 GB one! 😁

At least 32 if there is expandable storage. If not, more

I could probably get by with 8. ;) My music and photos are backed up in the cloud with Google. T-mobile lets me stream my Google Play, Hulu & Netflix free of data usage. I just need a few weather apps installed and I'm good. :)

I bought the 16GB model, and it is only half full. I have never needed very much storage space on my phones.

Got the 32gig. Without expandable storage I didn't want to take the chance. And I'm glad that I didn't because out of the 32, less than 25 is available to the user.

For two years I functioned okay on my Moto X with only 16 GB of storage. All it meant was that I had to be choosier about what music and pictures I kept on the device—only select playlists, only recent pictures.

Now that I have 32 GB on my Nexus 5x, I'm a lot less choosier. Almost my entire music collection is on here (the songs I like, anyway) and a lot more photos.

If you don't need to store a lot locally, 16 GB should be fine.

I got 16 accidentally because I was phone excited and click happy - I also forgot to get Nexus Protect. #FailingTheWorld today. Guess I may have to do an unopened return and reorder the right one.

I got the 32gb. Having lived with a 16gb Moto X, a step down storage wise from the last phone, I didn't want to be stressing about storage for this one. If there was a 64gb 5X I would have gotten that.

I got the 32GB without a thought.

I have a 16GB tablet (LG GPad 8.3) whose internal storage is mostly full, even though I put media content (music, videos) on the SD card. Apps alone, especially if you are into games, can fill the unused space in a 16GB device very quickly.

I got the 16gb just because the deal was too good to turn down. Just out of interest does anyone know why the 16gb phone only has 10gb of available storage? Can't be 6gb of operating software.

I just bought the 16gb, more than enough for me as I easily managed on 8 with my nexus 4 and 16 with my nexus 5. Will receive it tomorrow and can't wait. Now just have to choose a case. Please reply to my post in cases if you have any advice.
Thanks

Because it's not actually 16GB. It's really 13 or 14 GB

Some of it is the OS but also all drives lose some storage once formatted so that is also part of the cause.

Cheers for the info.

Still, its a bit misleading, 16gb turns into 10gb before you've even started.

I was prepared to lose some storage but 6gb is a lot, and a lot more than a was prepared for.

I ordered the grey felt material one that Google makes. The phone & case arrive today. I'll give a full report.
