Difference between disabling auto sync vs background refresh

Battery saver has the option for disabling background refresh. Just wondering the difference between that and just turning off auto sync. Thanks!

Difference is can set individual instead of Auto syn off which is all

Background refresh is not allowing that app to give notification or refresh it's content. Background data so when your on data instead of WiFi it can't refresh through your data connection its good if you don't have lot of data from your carrier .
