Difference between htc one m8 and google play edition?

Which one is better and why? is one more expensive? which performs faster when it comes to everyday tasks such as texting and internet?

The difference is the Google Play Edition comes with stock Android and the carrier version has HTC Sense and possibly carrier bloatware. Really it's just a matter of preference....some people prefer stock Android while others like the different look and feel of Sense.

As far as price it just depends if you're buying on or off contract....GPE is $699...Verizon has it for $599 or $149 on contract.
