Difference in Insurance: AT&T vs. Best Buy

Best Buy wouldn't cover my phone that I purchased from at&t. I purchased my last phone from best buy and I had the insurance, $9.99 a month. Well I just purchased my note II from at&t and I called best buy to see if I could keep my insurance from my old phone(gs2) and they said I had to purchase it from their for them to cover it.

So I was at my local best buy today and one of the employees couldn't tell how much insurance would be on the note 2 I know I'm going to at&t so that's why I'm posting here does any one know how much the best buy insurance cost for the note 2?

9.99 the only phone that costs more than that are iPhones those are 14.99

That's no longer the case, new policies are coming into plan

Is been reported you can do this although I always buy the best buy black tie insurance with my tech.
