Different Keyboards for different apps?

Is there a way to set different keyboards to be used for different apps? Like one for texting and one for mail etc..
Or do I need to reselect the input method each time I switch apps and want a different keyboard.

Yes, but that then changes the keyboard for every app. I'm looking to set specific keyboards for each app so I don't need to select the input method each time.

I don't believe so, at least I haven't found a way, but I haven't been looking too hard.

I don't know if I'd use different keyboard per app, but I'd love to use Swype in portrait and stock in landscape.

That looks great - I've really resisted the urge to root my phone. That might be enough of a feature to make me take the plunge.
