Difficulty using keyboard

I'm having a lot of difficulty using whatever is the stock keyboard on the S8. Certain words like 'for' are literally 9 out of 10 times coming out as "fur". When a word I use often comes up as a suggested word, like Samsung for example, most often it will come out as Sam5 because the word Samsung appears above the number 5. Other words like "would" are also difficult. It gets really frustrating to have to make more than 5 attempts to get the word I want, or just give up and go one letter at a time.

I don't know if this difficulty is due to trying to get use to the edge screen. Coming from the Moto Z force, the stock keyboard I believe was Gboard. That was not without issues either. At random and frequent times, I would no longer be able to 'swipe' a word.

Surely there's a keyboard that is easier to use.

There are a ton of options. Resize it for example to be a bit smaller so you don't accidentally press 5 instead of the suggested word. Download Gboard or Swiftkey and use that, etc.

Download Gboard and ditch the Samsung keyboard, its awful.

I wish it was that easy for me. Gboard has this weird emoji swipe to next page glitch and when I make a custom color for the keyboard the letters and emojis get dimmed out lmao so stupid

Give SwiftKey a try. Been using it for years. It has size options, and it's dynamic. It learns from you so that the predictions are based not only on current trends but also on your style of writing. The cloud option means that when you change devices, that information is retained.

Have you tried SwiftKey?

Another vote for SwiftKey. I've tried many others but I always end up going back to SwiftKey. Stick with it for a while, it really does learn how you type. There are tons of options for the layout as well that make it easier to type with.

Having used swift key for a couple of weeks now, I'm not finding it much better. Auto correct is a bit annoying.

I'm still having to trace out the same words multiple times before giving up and entering one letter at a time.

You don't need to use flow if you don't want to. I use Swiftkey but i hardly flow type.
