My Nexus 7 2013 is dead . I can send it into Asus to get it repaired for $200 or I could spend a little more and get either the Nexus 9 or the Samsung Tab S2 8.0

My gripe with the Nexus 9 is I like the smaller form factor of my Nexus 7 and the Tab S2 8.0 is not that much bigger.

However with the Nexus 9 I'm fairly certain it will get Android 7.0 but I'm not sure if the Tab S2 will.

I know the Tab S2 will get Marshmallow but I wonder what the likely hood of Samsung updating the Tab S2 beyond Marshmallow is.

The nexus 7 likely won't see Android 7 so is it worth it getting repaired? Spend more money and get a larger tablet like the Tab s2 or just get the Nexus 9 and deal with the size. I've heard of complaints though about the quality of the Nexus 9 in terms of light bleed from the display and other quality issues.

Any thoughts or suggestions is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

The N7 2012 will not be updated. The 2013 already has been. Drop the bucks on the Tab S2. I love mine. Yes, a fine device.
Move on.

The Tab S2 is a good upgrade from the N7 2013 (which I also have ). Though I did upgrade ona spur of the moment buy I wish I had done a bit more research and looked at whst other tabs had on offer such as watching movies on my mates TV through HDMI and would have also liked an IR blaster too.

Another vote for the Samsung, I have the first version and I love it...

I have the 2012 and 2013 models. The 2012 is a dead weight in my desk drawer.

The one I have is the T700, if that's what you have in your desk let me know and perhaps I can lighten your drawers load... ROFL

I can't see why a back up wouldn't be in order....

I appreciate the interest. I use it, just as I use my iPad Mini, but they both are rather needy in speed.
I have no plans to transfer them to another owner.
I use it occasionally to watch documentaries on Netflix.
