Dinc thinks I am in Memphis instead of where I actually am

All day my time has been off an hour, I tried turning the phone off then back on, no change. Then I just realized my homescreen weather widget says Memphis, Tenn. I am in Annapolis, Md. Memphis is an hour behind me time wise, so that makes sense.

What doesn't is why does my phone think its in Memphis to begin with. I tried setting it manually to Annapolis, Md but it goes right back to Memphis as soon as I let phone go to sleep then wake it back up.

I also noticed all the places I had saved in the Weather Widget to check on weather where my friends are, or where we vacation are changed, not sure if that is related or not.

Phone is not rooted, and I am using the stock HTC sense home page, and is updated to Froyo, I think that was the last update I got anyway.

Any Ideas?

Do you have your location settings turned on in settings>locations.

I know there is a setting somewhere that will let you change your weather location because I did that a few months ago but can't remember now :(

i have this problem sometimes. when i first got this phone about a month ago it had me somewhere in asia...i'm on the east coast in the U.S of A

but i cleared the cache on the weather app and it worked fine. now every so often it will put me in a city that is about 20 minutes from where i live. if i manually refresh it finds the right location.

now here is another oddity of the weather widget. my city sometimes displays the name. most of the time it says current location - 13

I got tired of the HTC weather not working properly. Even got a phone replacement and for two days it worked. I forked out 1.99 for fancy widget and love this weather application. Stunning skins to choose from and the clocks can be different sizes. I like the smaller version and doesn't hide my home screen. My city is always listed and if an another area it changes like it should. Weather is on target. Perfect. Until HTC can improve it not using and possible will not. I have been using fancy widget for over 2 months. I love it.

Have you tried going into settings/date time? take it off automatic and select your current time zone and also change your time after that is all done click on automatic. As far as your location (for weather) need to make sure your GPS is on. Once that is done refresh your weather and all should be ok.

Locations settings are on, Nothing has changed, phone didn't even get turned off the night before I noticed it was wrong. I manually set it, but when I went back to check on it, it had returned to Memphis.

Update, some time during the day yesterday it "fixed" itself and had my correct time and place, but later that day it returned to Memphis.
Today it was showing Memphis time ( hour behind) and Memphis weather, ( checked on line) but listing the location correctly. I tried reseting the time manually,

but after awhile it reset itself back to Memphis , time, weather and location.

I guess I could just leave it on manual, but that seems like a pain in the butt, and I can't understand why it has worked all this time ( got this phone on opening day) and now out of the blue it is lost.

call Verizon then. It should be correcting itself. do you have it on "automatic" after trying to reset the time do a battery pull WHILE phone is still turned on and see what happens. maybe that will work
