direct dial widget not working

My direct dial widget no longer works after kitkat update. It tells me the app isn't installed. Anyone else?

Have you already tried removing the widget from the screen and then placing a new one in its place?

Yes. I removed and replaced a couple of times as well as restarting the phone.

Are you rooted? If so, did you freeze or delete any system apps?
