Disable app specific data

Is there a way to disable YouTube from using data?

I remember it was easier before. I notice your able to disable background data but not foreground.

Want to disable as my work wifi sucks so I turn it off. when I get home I forget to turn wifi back on and my kids grab my phone and watch YouTube.

In the General settings of the YouTube app you can limit HD video to WiFi only. I don't see anything else. My kids can't unlock my phone without my fingerprint or password. Do you have that set up?

You can use Tasker to have WiFi automatically turn on when opening the Youtube app.

Go to settings/data usage / background data and you can disable any specific app from connecting to data

Yes I have smart lock enabled to my house. So don't need to use fingerprint when I'm at home. Guess I'll have to change that and hope it's a reminder to turn wifi on when the kids ask to unlock the phone.
I just remember being able to disable apps from using cell data. Can only turn off background data now. Did test to see if I'm able to get into an app with background data off and like I thought I can.
