Anyone know if we could choose to turn off Bixby, and/or reprogram its dedicated button, since ya know, Bixby is completely redundant on an Android phone? :-)

I'm wondering this as well. Hoping maybe it's customizable like the button on the the Samsung active phones.

Why so much hate for Bixby when no one has actually tried it out in real life yet ??!!!

My theory in trying or experimenting with something new in life is ........ I'll try it at least once ....... twice just in case I did it wrong the first time wink wink !!!!!!

Give it a shot a few days after getting your new S8s ...... never know no ????

It is because they are trying to beat Google at one of Google's core competencies and given their track record it is highly unlikely they will succeed. This is the same company that delivered S voice.

Why they dump which must be considerable resources into development of these kinds of things is beyond me. I won't even try this!

I'm not big on assistants. But I am looking forward to trying it. If I don't like it I simply won't use it. But from what I can see so far there is some useful features I like.

Yeah I like the idea behind assistants but rarely use them but I'm still excited to see how this one works.

Well hidden under Bixby is Ok Google that you can use Bixby is just Samsung stacking there UI on top of Android 7

I had a talk with a Samsung employee (got to try both phones, one word: Awesome) and he told me that the Bixby button will be customizable through an update.

^Sounds very reliable, just like the AOD third party app thingie. How long did it actually take them to implement that?!

I doubt I'll use bixby, but I do feel awkward when I say "ok Google", especially if I'm around people

I just played with one at bestbuy and changing that buttons behavior does not appear to be anywhere in the settings.

Exactly! ... Samsung just trying to one up everyone. We don't need/want Samsungs take on everything!

That button should of been for GA, screw Bixby

I'll give it a try. With so many doubtful people, it was a big risk including a dedicated Bixby button unless it can me remapped.
