Disable fast charging - how to?

go to device management, click battery on bottom left, in top right corner click the three dots for advanced settings and change it there

Then buy a outlet plug that doesn't. I doubt I'll need to worry about battery life at all, mot in 2-3 years. I don't think these batteries are going to be as poor as some older Galaxy or other phones have been.

Heat should not be an issue but that would worry me more and indicate something amiss.

I downloaded the app Find My Device which is the new Device Management.

There is no battery to click on. Where is that app?

The Galaxy S8's new battery will degrade less quickly than the Galaxy S7's

I'm only keeping my phone until the S9/S9+ are released anyway, so battery degradation isn't that much of a concern for me.

It is a concern to many people, I cannot quantify but am pretty sure the majority does not replace their modern android/iPhone/whatever every time a shiny new model becomes available (and sometimes breaks the 4-digit price tag)
This forum is for enthusiasts. Now, back in the real world, I know plenty of people who run around with 4 year old Androids or iPhones or other digital devices (and frequently complain that the battery does not hold any charge)

Oreo: Device Maintenance : Battery : 3 dots : Advanced settings. Turn Fast Charging on / off.
