disable full text SMS on lock screen?

I don't see an option for disabling full text on the lock screen of incoming/new SMS. Am I missing something or it not a switch I can turn off?

Not finding Handcent in the market - it comes up with an error as if the app is missing... I will look at chompsms though, thanks.

yes, it is just a replacement to the built-in messaging app.
