How do you disable Google Now?

I'm trying to figure out why my battery drains so fast since the jelly bean update.

Open google now. On the card that initially comes up there is a settings menu (3 vertical dots) in the lower right. tap on the settings option. At the top of the settings menu, you will see "google now". Tap it and at the top of the screen is the option to turn off Google now.

I did that and I'm still getting card notifications. Will reboot and see it the odd setting sticks.

You can also go into settings/app manager/all/disable voice search

Have you tried a "Factory Data Reset" yet? I had awful battery drain right after the JB update. I did that and let the phone run down to under 10% battery life and performed a regular restart. This worked great for me.

Good luck.

+1 this is the most useless, intrusive and annoying feature ever created.
It comes up randomly for me, eveb when my phone is just idling by itself. Such a waste of battery.

I can't disable mine either. I've disabled everything that seems related in the Google settings and that made no change at all

My google now screen has buttons or context menu so i cant find option either

Please stop bundling bloated malware with phones
