Disable Motorola Homescreen?

I just installed Apex Launcher and set it so that it is persistent. However, every so often, it closes, and the Motorola Homescreen comes back. When I try to disable Motorola Homescreen (so that the phone defaults only to Apex Launcher), I notice that the disable function is unavailable for the main app, but is available for the function "Homescreen Config". But this concerns me, because I don't know if disabling "Homescreen Config" will affect all launchers. Does anyone know how to stop Homescreen from coming back up?

try Nova.
I may, but I think I'm still going to have the same problem. As it is, this phone has a serious problem with memory management (which I think has to do with 4.1.2), and Motorola Homescreen restarts many times anyways.

You don't have to disable the Motorola homescreen. Go to Apex settings and select Apex as your default home screen "always" (instead of "just once"). I've only had the Motorola screen come back if I have done a simulated battery pull.

I have done that, but Apex keeps shutting down. And I still have either launcher occasionally crashing. When I look at the memory management, it's atrocious, with only about 60-90 MB available. It seems like my phone wants to open up things at random to fill the memory fully.

I use Nova. It seems that I had to soft reset after I loaded Nova to prevent this. It looked like it was trying to go "Back" to the home screen until I turned off/on.

One thing that's very important to do before you install a 3rd party launcher...

You must take all the icons off the native home screen (pull them upward and delete) so there are NO icons on the native home screen AND dock. THEN install your launcher and the first time you use it, check the "always." Taking all the icons off the home screen before you start another launcher eliminates the inevitable conflict that will arise with two layers of icons and widgets "fighting" with each other. Be sure to back up your native home screen via MyBackupPro before you clear it, in case you want to go back to it. BTW, I really like Nova Launcher (paid). Super goodness!
