disable volume warning?

My unlocked M8 on 4.4.4 would give that warning one time after a re-boot, then no more until another re-boot. I updated to 5.0.1 a few days ago and today realized that that annoying notice no longer appears. Thank you to Google or HTC, whomever is responsible.

Same here. I wouldn't be bothered by it though. It's a good thing and more phones should have it. My ears are my living and it's sad how many people destroy their hearing in their youth without realizing how serious it is and how easily it happens.

Sure but I don't think I was damaging my hearing by having it up all the way on my phone while connected to a Bluetooth speaker outside on the other side of a large camp in northern NH. Or when I have it connected to my car with the volume maxed out on my phone and my car's stereo at 7 out of 20 for volume. It's more dangerous when it does this while I'm driving with navigation because it covers the map with the message saying it's too loud. My ears aren't much use if I'm dead.

You are very lucky then. My Vzone Galaxy S4 also had this stupid warning anytime I had the headphones hooked up and went beyond 60% volume level when the screen is off. Very annoying when you are working out, a good song comes on, and you keep pressing the volume up and nothing happens. Never got around it on the GS4 but finally conquered it with the M8!

And potentially life threatening when I'm driving down the road with my phone plugged into the aux port and this stupid nannyware creates a distraction!
