Disabling Sense Home

I don't have the Sense Home widget installed on any of my homescreens. Does anybody know if Sense Home just controls that widget, or if it has other features tied in with it I might need? I noticed that it's using a small amount of battery when I checked using GSAM. It's not much, but if all it controls is that widget I thought I'd disable it.

Sense home is also integrated with Blinkfeed. It uses resources for that.
