Disappearing icons

Is anybody else having this problem? The icons on the home screens will intermittently disappear when exiting out of the browser or various applications. Not consistently one app. Also all apps missing in the app drawer. Usually after a minute or two, everything will go back to normal. Running the stock launcher. I've restarted the phone, but have not done a factory reset. If nobody else is having this problem, I may just exchange.

I have had this happen twice (had the phone for 3 days now).

I noticed it only when i was exiting the Application manager app, uninstalled it and it has not happened since. So maybe if you have some sort of App manager or Task Killer app it could be the culprit, Just a thought.

This probably dose not help you, but i have noticed disappearing icons to some degree.

yes i have lost several home screen icons and had to drag them back....plus a couple widgets have dissappeared several times and had to reinstall.

I have had an issue with app icon pictures changing to a generic Android file image. And when I click on it the app wont open. Restart fixes this.

Are you using the stock launcher or a third party? Stock should not do this, but third party may. Unless a third party launcher has a setting that keeps it locked into memory, the android os can close it if the system needs the ram or processor power the launcher was holding. Let's say you are using lailincher pro, and jump to playing a graphics heavy game. Since the launcher is not marked to be held in memory, the android os can then see it as an idle program and close it to free that ram for the game. This does not occur often as the likleihood of having one application require all of your ram is low, but it can happen if you are multitasking apps or have a few poorly designed apps that stay actively running if you do not back out of them.

Now, if you are stock launcher, this does not really apply.

I am using the stock launcher. It lost icons and apps in the app drawer about 4-5 times yesterday. I guess I'm just wondering if anybody else is having the problem. If not, then the problem is the phone and I will get a replacement. There hasn't been much feedback, so I'm assuming that most people are not having this problem.

Having the same problem with my wife's phone. Totally strange and she's going to be mad when I have flash it...sigh

this is a common problem from what i've seen on the charge. i think it has to do with the amount of ram or something because since i've rooted and debloated it has at least cut down dramatically on the time it takes for the icons to reappear. when my charge was stock it would take up to several minutes for them to reappear but now that i'm rooted it lasts only a few seconds tops.

I found the problem, it was the 3d home widget that was making the apps and widgets disappear. Uninstall and reboot, all is back to normal.
