Sad face.
May have to go with the LG V20. Living in Alaska it's really awesome being able to get pics of the Northern Lights with my phone. I went back to my 6P for a few days and missed out on some good pics so came back to my S7E.

I hear where you are coming from. I get it. As nice as pro mode is, if you are that interested in taking photos, you may want to look into a entry level DSLR to hone your skills. I understand that it's nice to have something in your pocket you can whip out at an instant. But when it comes down to it. The Pixel does have a great camera. Maybe no pro mode, but the rest of the specs are better than the LG V20 in the long run
Also updates right away :)

Just install "Manual Camera" app.
I saw a review video where they moved from the native app over to Manual Camera.
Plenty of tweaking available via that app.

Actual use of this type of feature is totally personal. For me, I really want to have a pro mode, just like I like I really need to have tons of storage space. I had both with my N7 and N5. Never once used pro mode on those phones, and my storage eternally remains almost unused. But somehow, I'll be let down a bit if my phones don't have these things at time of purchase. Funny, but that's just me.

Not really much of a problem as the Camera on the Pixels is quiet good and has some manual features with a simple and easy software. Pretty much what an average consumer needs.

Not so much tweaking to tweak lol. All the pics of the Northern Lights and such use different iso settings and longer shutter time lol.

I believe they have made some good decisions in getting the most of what they have. I know for me it's going to be faster and better than what I tweak.

You won't understand as you're probably not a photographer.

You don't tweak settings to get a good picture, you tweak settings to get a certain effect out of a picture.

If you don't know how a picture changes with a longer shutter time, or a wider aperture, then you wouldn't understand why people would want control over these settings.
