Coming from Note 2 disappointed with the lower speaker location. My fingers seem to rest right over the speaker area muffling sound. Received lots of comments on the speaker location on the Note 3, but not caring for this location so far

I actually like it much better at the bottom. I think the back is the absolute worst place a speaker could be. Different strokes for different folks though. ;)

Yea, not very good for playing games. The one and only proper place for a speaker is in the front.

Just move your finger... that's what I did!

The problem is the only real good setup is like the HTC one. But if they did that we would have a phone that is about a half inch taller.

Bottom isn't best but it is better then behind.

Yup, I must agree, not the most sensible place for the speaker. Especially for landscape use. I have no doubt it will be moved with the next note.

I don't think any place is ideal. Bottom socks when playing games, front takes up too much space, and back sucks when you sit the phone down and it muffles the ringing.

Maybe like the ancient phones where the earpiece doubled as a speaker.

Back does that only if you make the back cover flat. With little bit curve there should be space for one or two speakers to work.

Honestly, I think the left side on the bottom would've been ideal for speaker placement. Most folks are right handed. But honestly like most I've just learned to put my finger under the charge port instead of over the speaker...
