Dismal battery life

Hey guys, here are some screenshots from GSAM and BBS. This is the typical battery life I get, is this normal? It doesn't seem any better than my EVO 3D was getting. Any advice on how to make it better would be appreciated. I'm on sprint, and my phone is not rooted.

Not attempting to be a smartass here but battery savers can be battery killers and it looks like you've tried numerous.

There are a number of tweaks you can make that should help. How often are you apps synching? FB, GMail, ESPN SC etc... Synching can be a big drain.

SVoice > Settings > Wake up/Wake up command: This sets your phone to listen for your wake up command at all times and can be a battery killer.

The above are a few examples I know of but I know there are some threads on here which really help you with optimizing your phone to prevent this drain.

Good luck.

I am confused. If you have used any, what is with all the screenshots showing different battery or app monitoring apps?

Disable whatever you dont use:

    • S Voice
    • Air Gestures
    • Syncing
    • Lower Display brightness
    • Bluetooth
    • NFC
    • GPS

It looks like a lot of it is going to having your screen be medium or brighter brightness. Try lowering your brightness to about 1/3 or so to see how much that helps.

I notice on mine that the screen on the s4 is my main battery killer. So like others have said turn of the power saving mode and adjust the screen brightness and you should see a difference soon.

One thing to mention here, that will be a pain - is that if you are seeing 80% drain in a couple of hours with little use then I'd return it for a new one under warranty. I use mine for many things and have had good battery life. I do NOT have everything disabled (then again not everything is enabled either) nor do I have power saving mode on.

What you're seeing is definitely not "the norm"
