This is a bit maddening. Several days ago my display began switching to the horizontal view whereas I prefer the vertical view. I have Auto-rotate screen checked. Powering off and on doesn't solve the problem. My current version is 4.1.2. Any suggestions as to what to do would be appreciated.

If you have auto rotate checked as in ticked, then you need to untick it.

Are you talking about your homescreen? If you have stock 4.1.2 without a 3rd party launcher, the homescreen shouldn't go to landscape. The only way I see that happen is when my Maxx is docked, so maybe the docking software is glitching?

I am referring to the screen in any mode. Phone rings: goes into landscape mode. Open up a browser: goes into landscape mode. At first several weeks ago when it flipped into landscape mode I could jigger with it and it would flip back to portrait. Now it stays in landscape almost all of the time. I am not using a 3rd party launcher.

To Sizzers: I went to Systems Settings> Display>Unchecked Auto-rotate screen. The problem persists.
