Display Settings at Top of Notification Panel

on my Note 8 I have an option to have the display settings on my notification panel and to have it at the top or bottom of the panel. not finding that now. has that ability been taken away?

on another note, lol, I prefer the swipe up navigation bar but cannot figure out how to "go back" to the previous screen unless the app offers that option. how do I move backward once I'm in a secondary screen. thanks.

that takes me to the close apps screen because mine is configured with the bar on the bottom with back on the left and close on the right. should I swipe up from the left? I've tried that and occasionally something goes back but it's not consistent. perhaps it's me?

thank you! definitely me. I was able to get out of the original screen that made me ask the question. still can't put the brightness slider on the notification panel though and I used that a lot on my Note 8.

Like this? Just pull down the notification shade twice and touch the arrow pointing down that's to the right of the brightness slider. That will show you the option to put the slider on top of the notifications area.

Should be able to click on the down arrow next to the slider and turn on the "show control on top" option

thanks, but I don't have that. that's what I want exactly. this possibility. I can't set it in display settings to even see it in my panel either, that I can find. tried and tried and tried. no option.
