Display turns on in my pocket

Did a search, but couldn't find anything on this. Almost every time I put my TB in my pocket the display comes on. I can replicate this by rubbing the display on my shirt sleeve. The on/off button isn't being touched, and neither are the soft buttons below the display. I can shake the phone while holding it at any angle, and the display doesn't come on by itself.

I have a Verizon screen protector that's been on the phone since new (April). The display has been coming on by itself for about a month (while on 605.5 and since 605.9). It seems to come on more when in a tight pocket (like pants) versus a loose pocket (like a coat).

Should I try a new screen protector? ?

Mine never turned on just by touching the display. Perhaps you have a defective phone, call verizon and they should replace it under warranty. I don't think that the screen protector should make a difference.

Sent from my Verizon Wireless 4GLTE HD smartphone.

By chance are you using Widget Locker or any other lock screen replacements? This kind of apps allow the buttons to remain active even when the device is sleep and to stop it you have to disable the wake on buttons options in these apps..
