Displaying 720p on tv

I just got my evo 4g not too long ago and I am curious as to what cord I need to be able to display my 720p videos (Or any other videos/pictures for that matter) to my hd tv. Granted I have not even opened the user manual so perhaps I should take that route. Are there apps that can make it easier? Or perhaps a video app that perhaps is better than the stock app.

I am not rooted, however I will be once there is an ability to with 2.3.3

I love monoprice (where Nate79 posted the link to) and I wouldn't have any problem buying one from them - and I might have if they would have had it when I wanted one.

I bought mine from meritline - micro-hdmi-cable-6ft-high-speed-ethernet-htc-evo-4g. I haven't had any problems with it (although I don't use it too much). They have it for $6.99 (w/free shipping).
