Displaying missed call notification honor 8x

On my new honor 8x When I have a missed call my phone doesn't display a notification or banner to inform of this and have to click phone and missed evert ime to see. This is annoying. Anyone fixed this? Please help

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Apps, tap Menu>Show System, and select the Phone app, then Notifications. Is it set to show all notifications?

Hi thanks I have already checked that and it's all turned on, I have turned them off and back on and still nothing.

Does the notification appear only after you've opened the Phone app? If so, I wonder if it could also be Huawei's overly-aggressive RAM management that's preventing the phone from being active in the background to send the notification.

No sorry. I have to click the green phone app and click missed so I know. Its so annoying and I try different things everyday and nothing seems to work

Any power-saving modes turned on? Make sure the Phone app isn't Battery Optimized. On Honor phones, it might have to be "Protected" from being closed in the background.

No all power saving modes off (I even tried with them on) how do I find out if protected or not please.

Thanks. Huawei have just advised I do a factory reset again and that will sort it (there words but I ain't sure).
