My company, a large brokerage, has tested 2.2 for security issues and it passed - BUT it does not have a unique connection string. As a result, the firm cannot discern 2.2 vs. earlier Android OS, and as a result will not allow Android access to Corporate Email.
I'm currently using a Treo, and was looking to switch to HTC (Sprint), but the firm will only allow iPhone, or a Blackberry device until Android implements the unique connection string to allow them to isolate 2.2 or better which meets security standards.
I did not see any notes on this being available in 2.3. If not, can we get it in 2.4? Problem is that I need to switch by 1/31/11.
