Distorted photos with a green tint to only one phone #

[AC Question]

Okay so here's some background and I want to upload a screenshot if I can. The phone that is receiving every single image distorted is mine. I am currently on a galaxy note 5 and used to use a nexus 5x. When I had the nexus I assumed it was that phones problem since my mom can send pictures to anyone else just fine. Then I got the note 5 and it continued and realized it wasn't my phone. My mom used to be an iPhone user (left this summer about the same time it started), but has since seen the light and switched to a galaxy S7. We are both on the same plan on AT&T. She can send the same photo to my work phone which is a verizon galaxy s5 and it will come through flawlessly. I dont get it. Shes deleted me and re added me as a contact and it still happens. My first thoughts were that somehow apples whole iMessage captivity of ex-iPhone users was affecting her mms messages, but at this point I'm not sure. Any advice?
