Hey guys, want to know if anyone else is having this problem.

I did the Official update to GB (yada yada) I do allot of night driving and use the Car dock with GPS Navi all the time. The BIG distracting problem is the hard button lights all stay on no matter what, when my DX is in the dock. ie.. Nav mode, Pandora, Phone, etc.... Also on the main dock screen the Top center Navi Direction icon is WHITE while all others are the soft orangish glow on night mode.... All this bright light shinning at your face on top of the dash is pretty distracting at night while driving.

Please tell me if any of you have the same problem with the Hard lights staying on when in the dock and/or the direction icon being white while all others are in night mode...

It wasn't like this before the GB update..

Thanks guys.

Suggestion: Most people put their GPS Docks smack dab in the middle of their windshield. I find that distracting, day or night. I put mine in the lower left corner of my windshield...less distracting. You really only need to glance at it from time to time and usually the voice alerts let you know when you need to turn...so, why have it in the middle of your windshield where it can block your vision?
Of course, you need to have a 12 V adapter cord that is long enough to reach.
FWIW

That is where I keep mine. The cord that comes with the dock is plenty long enough. Thats not the problem. The problem is the Bright ass hard button lights. So does your lights stay on? You never said.

I have noticed issues with the hard button lights on my X since the update. Sometimes at night they light up and won't turn off. Other times they won't light up at all. They are also a lot brighter since the update.

I am pretty sure there is an app that will disable the lights on the buttons, but I can't remember what it is called. Maybe someone else will know...

i have never noticed them on my car dock, but they occasionally stay on while in the media dock. its inconsistent though, which is a little odd

Lights staying on is intermittent... they do seems brighter though when they are on.

Yea i noticed that too with my media dock. I found with mine that if i LOCK the device before putting it on the media dock the lights turn off shortly after.. No so the case with the car dock. This light thing sucks...

I haven't noticed the button lights staying on in the car dock, but I have had an issue with the media dock. Here's what I posted about it in the "Gingerbread issues" thread:

Here's my take on the hard button lights staying on in the media dock. I've found that if the light is on in the room when I dock the phone (ambient light sensor detects no need for hard button lights) then the lights do not come on when the screen wakes up when I dock it. After that point, I can turn off the room lights and even when I turn the screen on again to switch to "bedside clock", or do anything else, the hard button lights do not come on. Seems like another bug that counteracts the first bug, but if it works consistently I'll take it.
