So I'm having a problem with my (unrooted) Galaxy S3. I tried to check for an update and I got the message in the title.
I read elsewhere that if you check the task manager, ensure that device manager isn't running, and pop the battery, it fixes the problem. That doesn't work for me.
I've rebooted, popped the battery, and even performed a factory reset. I still have the problem.
Also I plugged the phone into my computer and loaded Kies. That gives me the message "This device does not support software upgrading via Kies."
I was hoping the update would fix the problems I'm having with TouchWiz crashing, and the fact that the past few days my phone's been having trouble connecting to 4G networks. I'm lucky if I get Edge networks now and sometimes I get no data at all, when a week before I was getting 4G in the same places (home, work, etc.)
Anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks.
