Please help me with this -I've a Samsung galaxy s3 and a new Samsung LCD TV.
So most of the online videos I can stream from my s3 to the TV via dnla as long as they're in the same WiFi networks. The s3 browser asks whether i want to play the content on the browser iteself or via the built in video player.i choose video player and there is a airplay like button in the player which directly plays it on my samsung tv..no wires needed.

Now I just got my new nexus 7 thinking I'll be able to do the same. But chrome starts play these videos directly on the browser.
On the webpage and I don't have any way to stream this to the TV. DNLA apps like skitfa etc will allow you to play certain apps like youtube etc..nothing from any website that have adobe flash content.

How do I do this on nexus7? The wireless display doesn't find my TV at all coz my tv is not miracast supported.

First of all, I'm assuming you're using a browser that will play flash video like Firefox or XScope.

Youtube has a built in function that allows it to serve vids to a DLNA render-er without an app like Skifta or Bubble UPnP. I use the Sony S5100 BD player for this.
For all other DLNA streaming I use Bubble UPnP to serve vids from any device (but not from a browser) on the same LAN to any valid render-er also on the same LAN.

You want to stream flash vids from a browser on the N7 to a smart TV using DLNA over a WiFi LAN.
This is what we all want, but you can not do this with the Asus Nexus 7 running Google Android OS.

The only way you can come close to what you want is:
Find an app or browser plugin that will download flash video to the storage of the local device.
Use a DLNA server program (I mean 'app' in new age lingo) like Skifta, Bubble UPnP, or MediaHouse UPnP on the N7 to serve the local file to your TV.

Thanks for you reply
The main feature i miss on Nexus 7 is the ability to play videos from websites directly to the TV - I do this now with my Galaxy s3 phone..it doesn't download the content and plays..it streams the content without downloading via the galaxy's native video app and use the DNLA to stream.

So i guess i cant do this on nexus 7..i might even return the nexus 7 and get a samsung galaxy 3 tab...what a pity..i really like the nexus 7 except for this feature..

Do the Samsung devices use a browser that plays flash vids? Aren't a lot of web sites blocking vids to mobile devices with or without flash ability?
Does it only stream to Samsung TVs? If so, then it's not using the standard DLNA, but a proprietary Samsung method.

I don't know why there are competing proprietary streaming technologies like Miracast, Chromecast, Air play ect. when there is already a standard called DLNA or UPnP!

the s3 browser doesnt play the content directly on the player - when i click on the video it says play it using video player or internet..i choose video player. then the video player displays the airplay like icon if my tv is also connected to the same wifi..

i havent tried this with any other tv..but i think its just he dnla

I figured it out finally..quite easy..
On chrome itself when its playing the flash video, there is a share button and i downloaded a program called Twonky Beam from playstore,,and click on share via beam..

Bingo!! it straight away beams whatever is playing in my browser on to my samsung TV in clear HD!!..no messsy wires..I assume there are similar apps to beam as well..

Thanks guys!!

I didn't even notice the 'share' option on web browsers. Are you using chrome? Does it have to 'play' on the N7s browser? Are you sure it was flash video, because Chrome doesn't play flash vids?

I'll have to try this when I get home.

Yes - there is the share option in Chrome. and the website I tired is playing the video in adobe flash player which i'm able to stream it via twonky beam to my TV. So my guess is any video you can play in chrome can be beamed to a tv which is quite neat!!
