is it just me or is the stock verizin dns resolver WAY faster than verizons? i have been using googles.lately everything net has been stupid slow, so i decided to do a new build your own rom thinking i just junked up something up. i chose google dns resolver thinking it would be faster. i was very wrong. i had the same problem, very slow net, even when using wifi. so i switched to verizon, just to see if it was a dns problem. sure enough, market and net browsing, rom manager downloads are all MUCH faster. i know what you are thinking, we are on verizon network, thiers will be faster. however i know something about the local fiber pipes around, and the only pipes out are at and t, southern link and centry link. verizon happens to use at&t's as funny as that might sound. any way verizon doesnt get to verozon fiber until talahassee. any way just wondering if anyone else experianced something similar.

Just trial and error, probably everyone is different. OpenDNS seems faster than Google for me, so certainly doesn't surprise me that Google isn't fastest for you.

its not a bid deal, it jsut seemed odd. also thought it would be good to put out there for others having similar problems. not everyone knows what the dns resolver is for.

Just don't change both resolvers away from the network-assigned verizon ones, you will break MMS.
