Do 3rd party vendors fixing screens void the warranty?

3rd party vendor fixing screen voids warranty?

Hello! I dropped my LG g4 and it has minor but long cracks. You can barley notice and it does not impair the camera. I called T-Mobile and they said I had 2 choices 1) Send it in for them to repair for $175 or have a 3rd party vendor make the repairs and void the warranty!

Has anyone been successful having a 3rd party vendor fix their screen and still been able to trade it in or Jump?
