Do I Have a Case to Terminate?

Okay, I've been a huge supporter of Sprint for 10+ years now and have probably talked more people into signing up for their service than a lot of their sales people. However, in the last 6-8 months, my service at my home and work (both are from the same tower) is complete crap, if I get it at all. I am an independent contractor and I use my cell phone as my primary phone, work and personal. This is legitimately costing me revenue at work if it's not working, dropping calls and unable to use Sprint data.

I chatted with an online specialist this morning and they basically gave me the ol middle finger, but do I have a case, if I call their customer service? They "upgraded" this tower that I'm supposed to be on and it's 100% crap now, no 4G of course and the 3G will not even update an app without timing out. The phone service is also non-existent and tough to make any sort of call without either cutting out or dropping all together. I'm beyond frustrated, but I'm not in a position to buy out all 3 phones on my plan, at $260 a pop!

I'm pulling my hair out here. I would love to stick with Sprint, they are my hometown provider here in Overland Park, but I can't take this crap anymore, I'm basically paying for a service that is costing me money at work!

Anyone have any sort of suggestion?

Well what kinds of phones are you using. If they are old nextel ones they will no longer work as they're sunsetting iDEN to use the spectrum elsewhere.

HTC Evo 4G LTE, which is why i posted here.:)

Ah I didn't look at what forum it was in I was just browsing the unread posts. That being said call on the phone. If they say no call back. It all depends on the person you get on the line.

Most likely they will try to give you a air rave device to boost your signal. They will try to exhaust all means possible before letting you break a contract.

Yeah what Topgonzo said they'll give you AirRaves or whatever they're calling them now to give you connectivity at home and work.

Your contract implicitly states that they do not guarantee service in any area so that's not grounds to get out of it.

Set em all to do nothing but roam... 1- you'll probably get better signal.. 2- if you use enough they may just kick you off..

What's your end game here? Looking to get out of contract etf free and goto another carrier?

Also isn't Sprint located in overland park?

Yeah, their first response was the signal booster actually.

Yes, I want out, my phone and especially my data is borderline unusable at my location now. It was never like this before the whole network vision "upgrade".

Yes, I'm literally right down the street from the world headquarters.

Im pretty much in the same boat as you. 13 years with sprint here. The last upgrade to the tower near me made things worse than ever. They gave me 3 airaves and never could get them to work. Sprint always plays the blame game on the phone which i have 5 lines and it cant be that. Now they tell me its a capacity issue. i Think they aren't going to do anything because why pay someone to fix it and turn around and have LTE soon. I did get them to give me a $40 credit a month for 4 months so i hope LTE appears by then. It cant get any worse...lol So im hangin in there and praying for the best..lol

It's just so frustrating anymore and the fact that they tell me "there is no outage in your area, signal is fine" makes me want to scream. I may just switch all 3 phones to roam only, permanently and go from there.

I live in Leavenworth ks and drive to work in OP and haven't experienced any issues with speeds or dropped calls. I do know that during a period of time I had bad service due to the work. Last couple of months have between good..maybe if you keep complaining or escalate the call the account services to see what the options are. I know sometimes they can discount the etf

That's the b of it, if you are on the main loop, or downtown, its fine, but in the heart of OP, its terrible. Its also ,gone to hell traveling up I-29 north of KC. Very frustrating.

I was with them 11+ years and left for TMO in Jan. I was able to get my ETF cut in half due to having 3 network trouble tickets open for almost a month each.
im in Dallas, TX and for over a month i was having issues receiving phone calls and texts. All data worked, well as good as sprint works. All outgoing phone calls and texts worked.
Something got borked with network vision. It also wasnt a device issue, it happened on my GS3 and EVO LTE.
Call and document everythying, start network trouble tickets, follow up, then ask the reps to note in your account you want a discount on your ETF due to Sprint not being ale to fix their problems.
What sucks is i put up with crappy data for years only to have to leave when my voice calls started to fail. The data was getting better but damn.. no voice was bad..

Sprint is quick to promise and slow to show results. I called and complained over and over again to have our tower fixed here in southern OH. A small town with around 15,000 people in it. One side of the town is on 2g and the other is on 3g. After a year of calls to them they finally fixed it. Now I regularly pull around 1.2mb/s on 3g.

It was so bad before I couldn't send a mms or browse the Web at all! Now I can stream Netflix on my EVO. So if you can't get out, just keep calling them 2-3x's a week. Eventually you should get results. I had to get pretty nasty with them at one point.

I live in Olathe and work in South OP and it seems as if the data has been declining quite a bit here recently. I spoke with Sprint and of course they said that both 3G and 4G were working great in those two areas. I rarely get over 4mb/s on 4G and I'm usually averaging about .4mb/s on 3G. It absolutely sucks. I am also in their "best" coverage area for indoor use at my home and work. I continually switch between 4G and 3G at home, and at work I am always stuck on 3G with roughly 0-1 bar of service. I will occasionally switch to 4G at work but for a minute or two then it is back to 3G.

Yeah it kills me how they say there is nothing wrong from sitting at a desk. ...lol. I've invited them over for the weekend so they can see how great the signal is..lol
Oh yeah , I got my HTC One today...w00t!!. now i'm waiting patiently for LTE

If you're losing business due to dropped calls, wouldn't it be worth the early termination fee to drop Sprint?

Also, you may be able to write the ETF off as a business expense.

I was having drop calls left and right the past month or so,I called Sprint and complained several times, they said they would have to run some test. A week later they sent text to call then back and apparently seems to be working. I've just experienced 2 dropped calls in last 30 days. I was having 3-4 per day.

The frustrating thing is, I was with the family at Target on Saturday and just thought I would run a random speed test since I noticed I was on a LTE signal. My result basically pegged the meter on Speedtest.net, hitting 24.5 mb down and 10.7 mb up!

So, the LTE could be fantastic, but until it is fully functional, it's pointless.

I live in South OP, I don't ever drop calls. The HTC has the best reception since the old Sanyo phones when Sanyo use to actually make their own phones.
