So I just got my new and very first today at best buy. I was the first one in line where i live :) So my question is, do I need a screen protector? If so, which one is the best for the transformer? or Which one do you guys think is the best?

I don't use one. It's made with Gorilla Glass, I wouldn't worry about scratching it. Asus actually has a video of them shooting the thing with a crossbow and its fine afterwards. The screen is a fingerprint magnet though, so you might consider a screen protector just to cut down on the smudging.

I agree that you don't need one. I actually find them annoying because it makes swiping harder. plus they aren't like phones that go in your pocket so the cases are usually enough.

I however don't agree with the gorilla glass statement. gorilla glass is scratch resistant not stratch proof. there are many topics on the net about people who have managed to scratch their phones by just having them in pocket. point is if you don't use a screen protector you should still take care to not scratch the screen because it IS scratchable.

Yep, I will put my vote in the no screen protector pile as well.
We are very careful with our electronics and care for them well, yet on our tablets we do not put screen protectors on them.

As was stated it does make it harder to swipe, it also makes the screen a tad not as sharp, and since this has Gorilla Glass I would not worry too much about it scratching. It of course is possible, but putting it in a case is more than it should need.

Three tablets here, and not a scratch on any of them.

:)

lol ok since the majority in here voted for no screen protector i will go with that :)

That being said. What kind of case do you guys recommend? Thanks in advance

I would suggest getting one. I've take good care of mine and still managed to have two scratches on my screen. I have not dropped it nor placed it screen down. I was pretty upset when I found my screen had gotten scratched. With it having gorilla glass I didn't bother getting a screen protecter. Does Asus warranty that?

I put one of the Skinomi (?) Screen protectors on mine after managing to scratch the screen. If it hadn't been gorilla glass, I think the screen would've broken. I'm happy with the screen protector. It is clear and doesn't affect touch sensitivity much that I've noticed. I've even switched to one of those protectors on my DROID X. So much nicer than the Verizon matte screen protector.

No protector, no scratches. However, I have the dock and the screen is 'protected' when closed.

YES!!! Get a screen protector. The idea is to HOPE you don't need it, but remember your can't UNscratch the screen once its been scratched. Better safe, than sorry. (dammit mom, get out of my head!)

I decided to go with screen protection if only to reduce the finger prints on the screen. Using Zagg and very happy with it.
