Do I need to be on Lollipop to receive 5.1?

I am currently running Android 4.4.4 on a Nexus 5 , I've put off upgrading to Lollipop until it gets some kind of stability and most of the bugs are resolved. For weeks now I've had the notification about the 5.0.1 update and I'm just wondering if, in order to (eventually) receive the 5.1 update I'll need to first update to 5.0.1 , or can the O/S make the jump from 4.4.4 to 5.1?

Thanks in Advance.

No you don't. Lollipop 5.1 is available for chosen phones. For example, you got jellybean, then you can update to lollipop 5.0 version easily.

Thanks for your Question

Just to close this topic, in order to get the 5.1 update, I had to first update to 5.0.1. Once that was done, the phone prompted me to update to 5.1 - so it appears that my phone wasn't going to jump from 4.4.4 to 5.1 without first moving to 5.0.1 at least.
